The Opportunity
We are looking for a Marketing Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Marketing Specialist supports Lavender’s lifecycle marketing efforts to sustainably generate business and increase brand loyalty. The Marketing Specialist is a detail-oriented email and SMS marketing professional with a passion for building smart, personalized customer journeys while keeping everything compliant. The role has the primary responsibility of driving the performance of our email, SMS and targeted marketing campaigns. This individual will drive creation, management and optimization of segmented marketing strategies to increase lead conversions, customer
engagement, and retention. The ideal candidate is both a creative and analytical thinker with a passion for storytelling, design, and data-driven optimization.
The Responsibilities
- Create and manage campaigns that guide customers through every stage, focusing on keeping them loyal and encouraging more engagement
- Design, build, test and execute high-quality multi-channel marketing campaigns and automated workflows (email, SMS, push notifications) that align with business goals
- Manage campaign calendars, ensuring deadlines are met and campaigns are deployed error-free
- Ensure compliance with CPRA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations
- Monitor and manage DMARC, DKIM, SPF, spam filters, bounce handling, and sender reputation management
- Quality control across devices and channels
- Analyze customer data to identify key segments based on behaviour, demographics, and lifecycle stage
- Manage ESP and marketing automation tools and lead the roll-out of new tools in collaboration with IT and key stakeholders
- Compile, monitor and analyze campaign performance, A/B testing and KPI tracking, providing actionable insights and reports and making data-driven improvements
- Report on the number of appointments booked and leads converted through campaigns
- Build reporting to better understand customer trends and segment behaviour
- Contribute to our small and agile team, maintaining flexibility to work on other marketing projects
The Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of experience in email/SMS marketing, segmentation, or customer lifecycle marketing
- Passionate about writing, designing and consuming direct response content that captivates
- Care deeply about creating positive experiences with end users and customers at the heart to drive adoption and performance
- Proven track record in developing, implementing, and optimizing automated customer journeys across multiple channels that spark immediate action and deliver results
- Strong design skills, proficiency in building responsive HTML/MJML templates, managing e-mail fulfilment and deliverability
- Experience working with CRM and marketing automation platforms, with preference to Activecampaign
- Strong understanding of CPRA and email marketing best practices
- Robust digital marketing toolset with a deep understanding of customer acquisition and retention strategies
- Data-driven mindset with strong attention to detail, business acumen, and solid project management experience
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and experience with reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, or Tableau) and strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable strategies
- Enthusiastic, highly collaborative team player with exceptional creativity, problem solving, and communication skills
- Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, remote-first, startup environment
- Thorough knowledge of the healthcare industry, HIPAA, or a relatable, highly regulated industry is preferred
