Senior Transmission Engineer - Remote or Hybrid
About the Role:
ExecuPOWER, a rapidly growing women-owned engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer to lead complex, high-voltage transmission line projects from conception through detailed design and implementation. This role provides significant technical oversight, guides a team of skilled designers and engineers, and plays a crucial role in the continued success and growth of our Transmission Engineering department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee comprehensive design and modeling of high-voltage overhead and underground transmission lines, including structure analysis, sag-tension calculations, wire selection, clearance analysis, and route selection using industry-leading software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER.
- Lead development and manage specifications for transmission line construction, hardware selection, and materials procurement, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
- Lead Project assignments from a technical perspective, driving progress on design tasks and overall project design performance
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, calculations, and bills of material.
- Perform expert-level analysis and interpretation of regulatory and industry codes, including NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ANSI, FERC, and NERC standards.
- Perform administrative functions such as preparing technical reports, updating project status reports, and filing timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner.
- Provide technical leadership and support during construction phases, coordinating closely with field personnel to resolve installation issues and ensure alignment with engineering designs.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of all engineering deliverables, providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
- Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
- Engage proactively with clients, vendors, and contractors to maintain high customer satisfaction and foster business development opportunities through proposal writing, presentations, and project performance reviews.
- Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment adhering to ExecuPOWER's and client's highest safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of dedicated experience in transmission engineering and high-voltage transmission line design.
- Expert proficiency with transmission design software tools including PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, SAG10, L-PILE, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory and industry codes (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, ASCE, RUS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proven ability to independently manage projects remotely, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills, leadership abilities, and commitment to teamwork.
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to work remotely with minimal oversight and excellent time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred or ability to obtain.
- Proven track record of managing large, complex transmission projects.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior engineering staff.

Location: This is a remote or hybrid position with the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision oversight in a remote role is also needed.
