This is a remote position.
We are looking for a Design Engineer with proven experience in retail fixtures, custom cabinetry, casework, and restaurant build-outs to join our multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in cabinet shop or custom fabrication engineering, deep knowledge of wood-based construction methods (MDF, plywood, laminate panels, acrylic, solid surface, sheet metal), and at least 3 years of hands-on 3D CAD experience—SolidWorks strongly preferred. You’ll be responsible for translating creative retail and QSR environment concepts into precise, production-ready fabrication drawings. Working closely with client services, estimating, production, and creative teams, you will ensure every project is engineered for accuracy, cost efficiency, and seamless execution in our manufacturing process.
Engineering Drawings & Documentation
Create engineering submittal and production drawings for internal and client approvals.
Develop detailed fabrication drawings for wood-based retail fixtures, casework, and display units, including cut lists, exploded views, and fabrication notes.
Ensure drawings reflect retail fixture and cabinetry construction methods and meet cost, quality, and design specifications.
Collaboration & Project Support
Work closely with estimating, production, creative, and client service teams.
Participate in project kickoffs and closeouts, providing technical solutions to design challenges.
Provide accurate material budgets and projected costs to the estimating team.
Process & Standards
Follow engineering standards for quality, accuracy, and repeatability.
Maintain accurate project labor and material budgets in the ERP system.
Required
At least 3 years of engineering experience in a cabinet shop, custom fabrication, or furniture manufacturing setting.
Proven background in retail fixture/casework construction—materials include MDF, plywood, laminate panels, acrylic, solid surface, and sheet metal.
Proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D CAD software).
Knowledge of woodworking tools, CNC machining, and fabrication processes.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred
Experience in restaurant or retail build-outs.
Familiarity with manufacturing in a multi-unit environment.
