Under the direction of the Clinical Support Manager, the Clinical Support Specialist is responsible for providing onsite analyzer installation, customer training and technical support at Tosoh Bioscience, Inc. (TBI) customer facilities. In addition to providing customer support, this position also supports sales and marketing activities, regulatory activities, and other departments, as necessary. The individual in this position must be committed to excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Territory - NJ, Eastern PA, and NY.
Reporting Relationships
The Clinical Support Specialist will report to the Clinical Support Manager.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support for all TBI clinical analyzers and customers. This includes assisting with method validation studies, conducting on-site training, assisting with the introduction of new analytes and contributing to the resolution of technical problems in conjunction with Field Service and Technical Support.
- Perform the physical installation of HPLC and AIA-360 analyzers. Conduct on-site customer training. Assist with method validation studies.
- Fully comply with all procedures, policies and quality systems requirements.
- Communicate to all relevant departments all product and performance issues encountered in customer accounts. Document issues per current polies and procedures.
- Support the Sales department through participation in trade shows, product demonstrations and communication with the local sales representatives and sales manager.
- As needed, work in conjunction with Field Service and Technical Service to resolve instrument and assay related customer complaints.
- Accurately document all customer visits and communications into the customer relationship management software.
- Identify and document calls related to potential medical device reportable events. Gather as much information as necessary during the initial call and follow-up for additional information as requested by the Complaint Specialist or per management’s request.
- Use EP Evaluator software program to assist customers with method validations.
- Provide monthly reports to the Senior Manager Clinical Support Training.
Education
Associate degree in clinical laboratory science. Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology preferred.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of three years clinical laboratory experience. Laboratory supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in training laboratory personnel on clinical laboratory instrumentation.
- Proven troubleshooting skills within the laboratory environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain all documentation at the highest level of accuracy and good documentation practices.
- Must have and maintain a valid US driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Must be proficient in Windows operating software and Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and become proficient in other software programs as required.
- Must be willing to submit to a drug test and background check
- Must be able to travel extensively

Working Conditions
This position might require visits to customer sites which are medical facilities. These facilities may have certain requirements which Company representatives must meet to gain access, including the requirement for drug, background, and health screening. Employment is contingent on your compliance with the requirements established by each facility, as evidenced by the results of the required screenings.
Must agree to provide required immunization records and/or agree to acquire required immunizations in order to gain access to customer sites as required by customers. You may be required to register at vendor credentialing companies.
