To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, the ideal candidate should possess strong attention to detail, initiative, and organizational skills. This role requires accurately administering and overseeing Workday HCM business processes, E-Verify employment verification, Service Cloud case routing and resolution, background check vendor and process management, and compensation administration including job grading and compensation analysis. The position also involves providing comprehensive support to HR team functions and to the Executive HR Director.

The successful candidate must demonstrate effective relational skills to build and maintain strong working relationships across all departments while professionally engaging with applicants and staff members. They must be able to respond promptly and appropriately to staff requests and concerns, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships throughout the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish partnerships of care and support:

  • Build and maintain strong work relationships with other departments, applicants, and staff
  • Respond to staff requests and concerns in a timely manner
  • Engage and participate in NSC programs and Commons as appropriate
  • Attend and participate in InterVarsity conferences and events as required
  • As a Knowledgebase/Help Center Liaison, work with Support & Solutions to create and update HR content
  • As the Service Cloud SME for HR, manage the team’s use of Service Cloud, provide the team with updates, and attend Service Cloud trainings/meetings as needed.  Suggest content updates based on frequently asked questions.

Coordinate and administer HR processes and programs:

  • Review and approve HCM Business Processes assigned to HR Coordinator security group.  Partner with individuals as needed to gather information or to correct data in a timely manner
  • Provide and coordinate tier two support for HR, employment, and benefit related inquiries and requests
  • Support the hiring process by coordinating the background process and competing Social Security Number verification for new hires.  Serve as point of contact for background check vendor
  • Serve as the point of contact with our third-party vendor, E-Verify, for employment verifications.  Complete ad hoc employment verification documents as needed.
  • Assist HR Partners in compensation administration, including job grading and compensation analysis
  • Coordinate employment eligibility and visa processing in partnership with legal.  Monitor and facilitate I-9 verifications as needed per federal guidelines.
  • As the Contract Administrator for HR, assist in monitoring and managing the team’s contracts
  • Coordinate NSC events including, but not limited to: blood drives, flu vaccination clinic, etc.
  • Stay current with software applications and platforms that are used to support the above duties

Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team:

  • Provide administrative support to HR Director, and assist with HR projects, tasks, communications, and reports as assigned by HR staff
  • Support Talent Management through program development and execution, including: meeting facilitation and technical support during trainings, curriculum development, event evaluation and improvement recommendations
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of HCM process and knowledge documentation in conjunction with the HR Systems Manager and HR Specialist.
  • Create NSC new hire welcome packets, schedule new hire orientation meetings, and ensure the completion of new hire documentation
  • Monitor frequently asked questions to update training materials in conjunction with the HR Systems Manager
  • Coordinate the filing and purging of HR records
  • Coordinate the purchase and maintenance of office supplies

Develop a funding base:

  • Establish and nurture ministry partner relationships through visits, phone calls and regular prayer letters
  • Raise an agreed-upon amount of financial support

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience is required, administrative, Human Resources and HCM experience is preferred
  • High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree and previous InterVarsity experience is preferred
  • Understanding and experience with database design, structure, functions and processes is preferred
  • Strong data entry skills required, with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and files
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with Staff across departments
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment
  • Able to travel as required.

Pay Range: $16.87 - $22.49 per hour
