REPORTS TO: Chief People Officer

COMPENSATION: $140,000-$160,000 annual salary; Healthcare benefits are available for this role.

  

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: 

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is a national nonprofit organization committed to ending colorectal cancer within our lifetime. We help patients, families, survivors, and caregivers navigate diagnosis and treatment options, connect them with those who can share experiences and knowledge, and identify resources to meet their needs. We partner with healthcare professionals and social influencers to raise awareness of preventative screening, and we collaborate with researchers to better understand the disease and fund critical research. Our efforts are urgent, effective, and efficient because we believe that tomorrow can’t wait.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

A senior-level position responsible to lead and oversee all aspects of the organization's human resources functions. This includes talent planning, recruiting, hiring and staffing, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and development, and HR policies. The VP of HR plays a crucial role in aligning HR initiatives with the overall business strategy, ensuring the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent. 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and implement a 3+ year strategic plan for HR plan aligned with the organizational business goals.  
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, hiring and staffing, and onboarding processes, as well as employee engagement for talent retention.
  • Collaborate with executives, leaders, and other department teams at the Alliance as well as other stakeholders to determine staffing needs for all levels of talent (FT, PT, interns, and independent contractors).
  • Establish well-defined responsibilities for leaders and staff on all steps of performance management and development including reviews, providing feedback, coaching, and professional development.
  • Set goals and metrics to measure the success of leaders and staff to exceed their organizational mission, consistently analyze reporting to access effectiveness of goals.
  • Lead a culture of growth and full staff engagement, supporting leaders in creating a positive work environment.
  • Implement training and development tools and programs to build skills and experience for staff to grow in current roles and build a strong succession plan.
  • Embrace and lead the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all hiring, staffing, engagement, and development processes and culture. Consistently assess effectiveness and fairness in all people programs internally and externally at the organization.
  • Manage the organization’s HR budget and enforce all HR and operational compliance policies and procedures.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Proven success of 6+ years in a senior-level leadership with extensive experience in human resources management 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with executive leaders, volunteers, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Deep understanding of HR principles, practices, and legal requirements.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Experience in talent management and employee development.
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits administration.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field 

 

SALARY RANGE:

Competitive non-profit salary, typically ranging from $140,000 - 160,000, based on experience and qualifications.
